Cambridge Title Company Begins E-Recording

With the end of November, (and nearly 2016 in its entirety) Cambridge Title Company has partnered with the Cook County Recorder of Deeds and Corporation Service Company to commence with e-recording.

According to the Cook County Recorder of Deeds, "Electronic recording – known simply as “e-recording” – is the process of submitting and processing documents to be recorded through the Internet, rather than by physically bringing or mailing paper copies to the Recorder of Deeds office. With a robust e-recording system in place, heavy-volume users like title companies can prepare and submit documents from their office, and Recorder’s Office staff verifies and processes the transaction on the receiving end – all without the need for paper and hand-entry by Recorder’s Office staff."

But how does e-recording work? Cambridge Title Company works through Corporation Service Company (CSC), which "offers the leading electronic document recording solution". CSC has two primary solutions. The ePrepare product is for submitters while eRecord is for county recorders.

County Digital Document Recording Technology Solution

eRecord (which you can read more about here) has given Cambridge Title Company certain advantages over the competition, including:
  • High-level security
  • High-quality performance
  • Cost savings
  • Partnerships with county back-end providers
  • Compliance with industry standards
As a title company with a Settlement Agency MyDec Account, Cambridge Title Company has utilized e-recording to:
  • Record documents faster
  • Reduce document rejections
  • Improve document security
  • Enhance overall office productivity
